Will by Kerry Heavens

Series: Not Your Average British Romance, Book 2
Release Date November 1st, 2016
Genre Contemporary romance

WillCover2016.jpg

Synopsis

Will Middleton has no clue how much I want him.
He looks at me like I’m an angel,
And all I can think about is how he would look tied to my bed.

He’s the perfect gentleman.
Amazing considering he’s related to The Spencer Ryan.
He is everything Spencer is not. Sensitive, considerate, and unassumingly handsome.
I’d like to show him that’s a good thing.
But he broke my heart once,
and I don’t know if I can let him do it again.

Mags Goldsmith is a beautiful, confident heiress and she seems to want me.
Although she really shouldn’t. I’m not what she needs.
She’s a goddess. And when I say goddess,
I mean erotica writing siren, who knows more than one use for a riding crop

Everything I thought I knew about her has been rewritten,
And now she’s got me tied up in knots.
She’s everything I’ve ever wanted and more,
I just have to prove I’m worthy.

This is not your average British romance.
It’s a tale of second chances, strap-ons, and of course sex oranges,
All bound up and tied to a bedroom door.

My Review

Will, what can I say? I’ll be honest. It took me some time to get into this book. I was expecting something different. And, different it was.  Will turned out to be fantastic.  Will and Mags had a relationship years ago and Will still has feelings for Mags.  If you’ve read Spencer, Will is quite the opposite. He’s vulnerable and sweet, but quite surprising.  Mags and Will are quite different so I understood Will’s insecurities.

I truly enjoyed reading about Will and especially enjoyed the changes that came from both of the main characters.

It was fun to reconnect with characters from Spencer and to see how they were sprinkled into this gem. So yes, you still get some Spencer in this book.

This story brings fantasies and trust to life. It’s a second chance romance with humor, laugh out loud moments and plenty of exceptionally well written sex scenes.

Kerry has has done it again with her latest 5 star read.  So get to it, get your copy today!

The show must go on, but the price of admission could be her heart.

Sick of her vagabond life in a Broadway touring company, Nicola is ready to settle down. She wants nothing more than to park her suitcase in California, put out feelers for local auditions, and leave her past firmly behind her.

Too bad her past comes knocking on her door her first day home. All six-foot-three, beautiful man of her past named Max. Stupid Max. The mistake Nicola just can’t seem to stop making.

Even before Nicola—fiery, quick-witted, beautiful Nicola—slams the door in his face, Max is in trouble. She will always be the one who got away. Three times. Which makes convincing her to play Titania to his Oberon a bit…awkward.

Though she has zero desire to re-re-rekindle an old flame, Nicola can’t turn down the chance Max is offering: a lead role with the West Coast’s premiere Shakespeare company. But when their first rehearsal kiss disintegrates into a passionate liplock, she’s questioning her sanity and tempted to jump ship—before Max can break her heart again.

Now it’s up to Max to convince her that the torch he’s been carrying is actually an eternal flame.

My Review

What do you get when you mix a Summer acting job, a second chance romance and Shakespeare?  Well, you get a Midsummer Night’s Fling by Eliza Walker.  I will be honest, I wasn’t too sure I was going to like this book at the very start.  It took me some time to really get to know and like the characters but, once it happened, the rest of the book was a real treat. I am a fan of Shakespeare and it had been quite some time since I read or was reminded of his work.  Eliza blended a clever and well written story that was a pleasant surprise from all of my other current reads.

Nicola and Max, the two main characters are actors that are reunited after several years.  They had a relationship years ago that didn’t end well.  A Summer acting job brings them together in roles that pull at their emotional and sensual strings.  This story has humor, angst, love, and a great cast both as actors and friends.  Chemistry among lovers is hard to shake and Max and Nicola definitely have it making that aspect of the book so much more enjoyable.

I will mention this, you need to be familiar with Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to understand the roles they will play when acting.  I had to do a little refresher research to make all of the connections in my mind.  Once I did that, the story flowed, made sense to me and was brilliant.

I do love second chance romance stories and I am always the cheerleader routing for the two former lovers to come together.  I do recommend that you read the book to see what happens between these two.  I won’t spoil it for you.

I look forward to reading the rest of this series.  A Midsummer Night’s Fling is a perfect Summer Beach Read.

I gave this book 4 stars.

Eliza, congrats on your debut!

My Review

Jennifer Probst is one of my favorite authors.  All of her books make me fall in love with the characters, the families, the pets and the wonderful stories that each unique character brings to life in the mind of the reader.  Everywhere and Every Way, her newly released book is another brilliant and amazing read.  This story comes complete with a unique and different cast of characters.  I happen to love Property Brothers on HGTV so this book is right up my alley.  I am also currently living through an entire house renovation so the subject matter, construction,  is my current situation. Jennifer created some pretty amazing characters in this series.  First of all, I loved the strong willed Morgan Raines.  Her vision and relentless pursuit for building and designing perfection make her an amazing protagonist.  Cal Pierce, the sexy builder takes on Morgan’s recent project.  Yes, I did type sexy.  (Wait, let me just say that my builders don’t look anything like Cal) Cal is the oldest of the Pierce Brothers and one that I wouldn’t mind watching hammer and drill in my own home.  Each brother is unique and brings his own twist to the story.  A recent tragedy brings the three brothers together at that same time Morgan comes into the picture.  Let’s just say that building a new home has never been sexier.

Jennifer always manages to include some pets that make me smile.  There are two pretty fun dogs in this story as well.  This story is like a perfect recipe.  Jennifer adds the right amount of romance, humor, angst, family, love and even sprinkles in a little foreshadowing for the next book in the series.  I love to make my own predictions about which character will be the main one in the next book.

Everywhere and Every Way is definitely on my list of perfect summer reads.  I truly enjoyed it and know you will too.

My Review

Compelling, addictive and sexy!

I’m a sucker for a well written romance.  A talented author is one who can make their story come alive in my mind.  At That Moment, Scarlett Hartgrove’s debut has all of the elements I admire in a romance and her brilliant story came to life just like a motion picture.

At That Moment is filled with brilliantly written “moments” that entice, enthrall and enchant the reader.  Scarlett created characters that I loved from the very first “moment” I met them.  Cara is my favorite and the most relatable for me since I found we shared so many common interests.  Dylan,  Wow!  I know I immediately fell for him just like Cara.  There is much to love about him.  After all, it’s not every day that you get to meet your movie crush, much less develop a friendship with him.  The cast of supporting characters was perfect.  They added and aided in keeping the dynamic flow of this story alive.  They kept the light parts light, offered humor, love  and support when the main characters needed them the most.  They were extremely important in keeping Cara focused as well.

As a reader, I pictured every moment in this exquisitely written book.  The details and descriptions were brilliant.  At That Moment,  takes the cake with flawless characters, exquisite and vivid locations and an exceptional plot.

This story is one I highly recommend.  It is a romance that will hook you, make you smile, swoon, I know I did, feel some angst, make you mad, and truly feel the love.

I am anxiously awaiting book 2.

And which man will win her heart?

Uncovering Hope is the third and final book in the Uncovering Love series, but it can also be read as a standalone. Contains adult themes and explicit content and is intended for mature audiences.

My Review

Do you enjoy reading books in a series?  Well, I do.  I love books in a series because once I become invested in characters, the anticipation of reading more about them is thrilling.  Uncovering Hope is the third book in the Uncovering Love series by Kacey Shea and the one that truly touched me the most.

Kacey Shea has created a dynamic cast of characters which are all part of the three books in her series.  In this book, Carly Reynolds, Tate’s sister is the main character.  This is her story. Readers will discover why she lives with her brother Tate and his fiancee.  Her emotional backstory comes to life as well revealing so much more.

One particular character introduced in the second book, Derek the drummer from Three Ugly Guys is back and trust me, you will love him.

Carly is a single mom of two boys who works as a nurse with cancer patients in a hospital.   In this book a handsome doctor enters her life as well. Hmmm…. Hot sexy rocker or hot steamy doctor? Life isn’t fair when it comes to making decisions right?

As a I mentioned, this book touched my heart as well as made me laugh many times.  Derek the drummer brought on the sexy and the lines that made me chuckle.  He is one sweet/sexy talker. Surprisingly, he proved to be so much more than expected and for that, he is my favorite character.

All great books have wonderful supporting characters and Kacey did a brilliant job writing them and sprinkling them in this book.  They each bring a unique touch to the story making it so special. If you read the previous books, you’ll find out what happens to the rest of the gang.

Be prepared to laugh out loud, keep a tissue handy for some tears, and you may even blush.  Trust me, Derek knows sexy!

I’d love to tell you more but, I don’t do spoilers.  One click this book today!

I gave this book 5 stars!

My Favorite Lines

“So, I’ve got to know.  You ever fantasize about playing nurse and patient? ‘Cause I feel a cold coming on.”  His poor attempt at a cough has me laughing.  “You never stop, do you?”

“You’re in a rush, Cinderella… your clothes gonna disappear if you’re not home by midnight? “Cause I wanna be around for that.”

“No dumbass. I have a sitter and I promised her I’d be home by midnight.”

“Right. Kids.”

“Watch it kid.”  I select one of the selfies and caption it. “Like the new haircut? Had to get in line withe my brother from another mother, Luis.  Who else wants in? #fuckcancer.”  I ask for Luis’ account so I can tag him.

“My, my, my! Lookie what we have here. Mama’s been holding out on me.”  He lets loose a long whistle.  “Dear God, woman!” How many dicks does one person need?”

“I need to hear you say yes, Carly. Yes that you want more.  Yes that you want me. Because I’ve never wanted anything more than I want you right now.”

About Kacey Shea, Author

Kacey Shea is a mom of three, wife, and part-time bookkeeper who resides in sunny Arizona. She enjoys reading and writing romance novels as much as her son loves unicorns, which is a lot.

When she’s not writing you will find her playing taxi cab to her children while belting out her favorite tunes, meeting friends or family for food and to share some laughs, or sweating it out in the gym. Kacey finds that picking up heavy weights repeatedly is good for her mental health as much as it is for the physical.

She has an unhealthy obsession with firefighters. It could be the pants. It could be the fire. It’s just hot. On occasion she has been known to include them, without their knowledge, in her selfies outside the grocery store.

Kacey one day aspires to be a woman hand model in a sexy photo shoot. You know, the woman’s hand raking across the muscular back or six pack stomach of the male fitness model. Yep, that hand.

Until that day comes she will continue writing sexy, flirty romance novels in hopes to bring others joy!

Excerpt

Three Months Ago Isola di Girasoli,

Mediterranean Sea

On top of the cliff, overlooking the blue sea, I grabbed my boyfriend’s hand, pulled him to my side and asked, “Ready, bello?”

Rocco’s short nails grazed my skin. He’d been biting them all week. He always did when he was nervous.

“Jemma is going to say yes…” he whispered in my ear.

“Sì, of course she is.”

A few days before, we’d selected the spot.

He’d suggested, “This is where we’ll ask her to marry us,”

I’d agreed.

The view, the place… so magical and perfetto.

Inhaling deeply, I smelled the briny air filled with the faint sticky aroma of sunflowers. The ground was covered in them, and Isola di Girasoli had even been named after them. Growing on vivid green stalks, their bright yellow faces open, reaching up to the white sky for warmth and light. They were gleefully rooted about, almost as if cheering us on.

In a way, Rocco and I were similar to those flowers reaching for something—nourishment and love.

We got down on our knees, and the warm soil pressed under my legs. Glancing up at the woman we loved, we each took her hand.

Jemma Fereti. Tall. Striking. Ours. We called her dolce because she always tasted like tiramisu when we kissed.

As I studied her finger, the one I’d put the ring on, I thought about us…

For me, taking Jemma as my bride, and Rocco as my groom, meant forever. My life spent searching for intention would soon be complete. Together they made up my everything.

For Rocco, our union symbolized something he’d yearned for: a family. Hopefully for Jemma it would mean peace after her year-long battle with breast cancer.

“Amore, go on. Ask her.” Patience wasn’t Rocco’s virtue.

“Give me a minute—”

In private, we’d talked about the day for the past few months. We’d picked out the perfect engagement ring: a Tittoni Gems of Distinction twelve-carat pink diamond, a custom-made work of art from Manhattan for Jemma. And two simple gold bands for Rocco and myself. We’d planned the vacation: a week alone on the island, getting time away. Only the three of us. This was one of Jemma’s favorite Mediterranean locals. She’d grown up there with her royal friend, Prince Massimo Tittoni, who ruled over the small country.

Having Jemma’s hand in marriage was all Rocco and I ever desired. Over the past few years, we’d loved each other as a thruple. Our special togetherness had been all her doing.

Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined an open poly relationship with one woman and another man working out. Certain jealousy and games would poison the affair, but it hadn’t tarnished our lovemaking in the least.

That is till now. Rocco yearned for more, and frankly, so did I. Especially when Prince Massimo granted the Poly Marriage Act, legalizing the rights for those who loved openly to wed.

“Dolce…we’d like to ask you something…” I got the words out. I wasn’t one to talk much. Regardless, Rocco had insisted it come from me. After all, I’d been with Jemma for almost a year before we’d met him.

My boyfriend was the well-spoken one. The one in touch with his feelings. The man who’d glued the three of us together in ways which went beyond the boundaries of sex. He was the first and only man I’d ever had sex with, and I liked it. Oh, God, I fucking loved it! I loved him.

“My amore—” Uncertainty quivered in Jemma’s voice. My left hand reached deep inside my pocket. I pulled out the diamond and held it up to her, sparkling in the sunshine, and asked, “Will you marry us?”

With a smile, Rocco’s face beamed.

Her mouth dropped open, asking, “Huh?”

My Review

Unconventional is the first book I’ve read by Avery Aster.  I am happy to report that I loved it.  This book had all of the elements to keep me hooked.  You’ll find love, passion, lust, moments of sadness and happiness as well as a polyamorous relationship.  Yes, there is a lot going on in this book.  This is the 4th book in the series and while I haven’t read the others, I was able to follow along and understand the characters.  Avery did a wonderful job of introducing them and providing background at the beginning of the book.

The characters in this book are lovable.  Jemma, the female protagonist has survived cancer.  She’s a business woman who loves two men.  Yes, two men who are equally delicious and unique.  So as the title of the book states, their relationship is “unconventional” but wow, just wow.  Rocco and Luigi both bring their own personalities and love into this particular relationship.

Unconventional was a quick read and one that I truly enjoyed.  I’ve read several other books that include M/M relationships in the past but this book and its unique story have made me see love in a different light.

I don’t want to spoil the book because it is too good not to read.  I highly recommend this book.

Steamy, sexy, witty and overall a delicious read.

I gave this book 4 stars!

Susi Reviews Faith & Hope by T.J. Cooper

faith & hope cover

As a supporter of Indie authors it gives me great pleasure to review T.J. Cooper’s debut Faith & Hope.

If you’re looking for a short and easy read, this book is for you. But, don’t be fooled by the length.  This book is packed with an emotional story complete with realistic characters you are sure to love.  Faith & Hope is the kind of story that makes you think about life.  At least, I reflected on my own and how sometimes, we take things and people for granted.  We also need to look at the entire picture and be grateful for the things and people that we have in our lives.  It made me think of the sacrifices we make for others as well.  There is definitely a powerful message in this story.

Faith &  Hope was a surprising journey for a couple I immediately connected with and adored.  Matt and Lisa are an adorable couple. To be honest, all of the characters with the exception of one will become your favorites as well.  T.J. did a wonderful job of creating and highlighting their unique and vital personalities in this book.

So you see, loveable characters and a story with the right amount of angst and happiness is what you’ll find in this book.

The ending of this story, not what I expected but, nonetheless one I truly enjoyed. I smiled, laughed, teared up and ultimately enjoyed this book.

Be sure to add Faith & Hope to your TBR.  I look forward to reading more writing as well as supporting this indie author in the near future.

I gave this book  4 stars. Congratulations on a wonderful debut!
