TouchStone for play Synopsis:

The Story of Us Trilogy Begins …

Twenty seven year old English teacher Elizabeth Parker is waiting to be found. Like the secrets of her past, her beauty is hidden, concealed behind modest clothes and a gentle nature. Into her secluded world enter two powerful men.

Handsome playboy, Ayden Stone is flawless and as skilled in the bedroom as he is in the boardroom. He has a taste for rare and beautiful things, and he wants to taste her: he’ll do anything to make it happen. Uninitiated in the art of seduction, Beth embarks upon a voyage of sexual awakening, allowing Ayden to steer her towards deep and dangerous waters, unaware of their fateful connection.

From a distance, former boxer Dan Rizler, bides his time but never loses sight of the object of his desire: precious Miss Parker. His tormented soul reaches out to her with merciless hands: he must have her.

This is a modern fairy tale full of romantic moments, music and monstrous encounters. Elizabeth Parker is about to be found but will she be bound by her destiny or by her demon …

Excerpt:

I can see him, but he has no idea I’m here. I’ve entered by the side door and I really think, for once in my life, lady luck is on my side. I blend myself into the flock wallpaper and digest him from the shoelaces up. He seems taller than I remember and he isn’t wearing a suit but black, tailored trousers that must have been made to measure. He has a lean body, broad shoulders and there’s the suggestion of muscles, taut and firm in all the right places. His right hand is in his pocket and the front of his blazer pulls back slightly, drawing attention to his crisp white shirt and the firm package underneath and … is there a hint of chest hair on his collar bone? I can feel myself blushing and imagining what he must look like naked; I wish I’d brought a fan or something to waft away my carnal thoughts. I lick my lips lasciviously at the thought of his mouth on my skin kissing, licking, tasting …

My God what am I thinking?

I manage to control my breathing, but the air leaving my body is so much hotter on the way out than on the way in. Forcing down a lump in my throat, I continue my visual exploration of Mr. Stone and here comes the best bit: his flawless face. The light in the foyer isn’t stark; it’s created by two stunning chandeliers hanging to his left and right. Hampered only by limited shadow, I’m able to focus on his eyes; framed by heavy brows, they’re darting from left to right, catching every speck of light like polished glass, shimmering with an incredible luminosity. Even from this distance they’re dazzling and hypnotic. How will I hold onto a rational thought when I’m being ensnared by them like a tiny, helpless creature? He’ll chew me up and spit me out and take no delight in the snack. Even his liquorish coloured hair serves to frame his staggering manliness; it’s carelessly dried and may still be wet, and I fantasize about how those black flicks will feel between my hot fingers.

I’m sighing … just look at him, he’s breathtakingly gorgeous.

But, I’m so out of practice. It’s been a year since I went on a date and even then it was arranged for me. Talk about diving in at the deep end …

The Bonus Chapter: Ayden’s POV

Excerpts

TSFP Bonus Sharp Stone

I position myself comfortably, taking in the jostling traffic and blurred shapes of Monday morning commuters. Thankfully I’m shielded from the mayhem, the fumes and the noise, yet I’m feeling an uncustomary twinge of something unfamiliar; a kind of prickling sensation signalling an approaching thunderstorm or an argument perhaps.

My phone lands on the seat beside me. How the fuck did I get roped into this? I launched the ‘Payback Programme’ years ago and here I am standing in for my right hand man. This won’t be happening again. I’ll turn up, turn on the charm and get the hell out of there. Job done.

Note to self: Get someone to explain to Jake Harrison how to organise his calendar.

It’s 8.10 a.m. When I raise my eyes, I catch sight of myself in the glass; my mouth curving up at one side in a self-satisfied smirk.

Looking sharp, Stone.

Bring out the welcoming committee ladies, Mr. Stone is about to make an entrance. I lean back into the leather seat, inhaling the calming fragrance of lavender on leather and check my emails.

AS POV TSFP

“Stop! You know I want you to be happy, right? We’ve been through a lot together and when I say what I’m gonna say, you know it comes from a good place, right?”

“For fuck’s sake! Just say it, Jake.”

“Are you sure you’re right for each other? She’s a fucking school teacher and you’re a – for want of a better word – a player. What makes you think she’d be interested in you? Or you interested in her …”

His words ring true. I pause to think … All I wanted to do was get the visit over with and flirt a little and here I am a fucking wreck.

“If you’re serious about her being the one then you have to think it through. If you don’t she might run for the hills. And then what? If you think she might be the one ….”

His words snap me out of my reverie. “She is. She’s … I can’t explain it! I like her smile – a lot.”

He’s laughing. “Her smile! There has to be more to her than that!”

“There is …”

unnamed-46About Sydney Jamesson:

There are those moments in life when a person you respect says something to you that strikes a chord, we’ve all had them … that moment came one Parents’ Evening when I was 16. An inspirational teacher said; “Your daughter should consider a career in Journalism or as a writer, she has a vivid imagination and a flair for creative writing …” As a wide-eyed teenager, those words were music to my ears. How prophetic was it that I went on to do just that …

For as long as I can remember, I have lived with The Story of Us in my head. The fact that Elizabeth Parker is an English teacher should come as no surprise; as novelists we write, initially, about what we know … Yet, I should confess, she isn’t me but rather that young, sensitive and naïve woman we all were or still are. The difference being, she has been victimized and, because of it, remained hidden. But, unlike some characters who may have suffered at the hands of others, she is not damaged: wary yes, but not damaged. She still believes people are innately good and that is one of her many qualities. It is her propensity for compassion that allows her to invite Ayden Stone into her world when, on the face of it, he’s exactly what she doesn’t need.

So that’s me, furiously typing away until the early hours, unveiling the intricacies of a 21st century fairy-tale; creating an epic story that melds a heady mixture of romance, suspense and a touch of the miraculous.

I have worked in Insurance, Fashion and in advertising as a Copywriter and Commercial Journalist and loved every minute of it; creative people are a lot of fun to be around. I swapped the day job for a more meaningful enterprise: having our daughter Jenna. Now 29, she’s a fiercely independent woman living the dream in Australia. She was a heavenly surprise that had me working freelance for four years, doing what I could between feeds, playgroups and afternoon lessons in preparation for starting school. It’s a ‘story’ we can all identify with, I’m sure.

I made a sideways move into teaching in 1997 and, six years later, became Head of English in a High School, making it my mission in life to introduce young people to a range of quality reading material. I try to foster a love of all things creative in my students and encourage them to find that creativity within themselves.

An Excerpt from TouchStone for ever, Chapter 13…

With dexterous hands, he leans back and unbuttons my dress; it falls from my arms and flutters to the carpet like falling leaves. I’m standing without shoes; flimsy underwear is all that lies between my modesty and my nakedness.

He lowers my hands from his chest to his hips and them places them on his belt, inviting me to relieve him of his trousers, all the time kissing and nibbling the skin beneath my ear.

I quickly unfasten the belt and release the buttons so the zipper comes down almost of its own accord. With my eyes closed I slide my hand down his jeans, over muscle and through pubic hair until I have him wrapped in one hand. He groans into my neck and the heat of his desire scorches my skin, urging me to tighten my grip and feel the pulse of a rigid cock rippling in my hand. He’s dipping and shuddering, making the kind of noises that have me clenching and so aroused I can barely stand.

With steaming breath he whispers, “Show me how to love you, Beth.”

With my free hand I move his hand to my left shoulder and ease down my bra strap. He follows through, left and right and leans into me to unclip it before it falls and dangles off my right wrist. I begin to pull out my hand.

“Leave it where it is,” he says with a smile and then proceeds to snap the strap and toss it across the room. With it discarded, I am captured in candlelight. This is the first time he has seen my naked breasts. Before, there was only the glow of moonlight. Now there are shadows and the flickering light cast by 20 candles. I feel exposed and lower my head, embarrassed by his stare.

“Look at me!”

I raise my eyes to meet his. “Don’t ever be shy about who you are. You are beauty personified. I have lived many lifetimes, travelled through space and time; read a thousand books and recited a hundred poems, but even I cannot find the words to describe you.” He rests his palms on my breasts and strokes my nipples with the pad of his thumbs, making my body tremble.

“See how you respond? Your body recognises the touch of these hands and no other. These hands are the key to untold pleasures.”

I throw my head back as I feel his erection growing, forcing its way through material, seeking freedom from containment. With both hands I lower his jeans and boxers, allowing it to spring free. When I see it, I gasp. It’s bigger than I remembered, standing long and thick without support. I’m aroused further by its magnificence.

“Give me your hand.”

I lift up my right hand. Enfolding it with his own, he places it around the skin coated rod of iron and begins to move my fingers and thumb up and down the length of it; rolling my thumb back and forth on the upward motion.

With a throaty voice he urges me to give him my other hand. I do.

He places it between my legs, his hand over mine, his firm fingers sliding between my own until they are wet and soaked. With our hands moving rhythmically he begins to fuck my mouth with his tongue. He moans into me, stimulating me even more, and I gasp, caught up in a sexual frenzy that has us both teetering on the edge of an orgasmic high.”

Review ~ TouchStone for giving by Sydney Jamesson

touchstone for giving

Synopsis

Elizabeth Parker has been found …
Like a falling star she has come down to earth, landing painfully on the debris of a broken dream. What she thought of as love now seems no more than a wish left unfulfilled. Her future lies in the hands of two powerfully possessive men; each desiring her to the point of insanity.
Flawless media mogul Ayden Stone oversees her voyage of sexual awakening, introducing her to new experiences and a secret world behind locked doors, away from prying eyes. But … is he Prince Charming or merely the great pretender?
With a fighter’s instinct, Dan Rizler continues to box clever; taking his time, waiting for the right moment to strike. He will have his Princess one way or another.
Into this twisted triangle enters Elise Richards; a woman with a past and a passion for revenge: hell hath no fury like Miss. Richards.
This is a modern fairy tale full of romance, secrets and suspense. Elizabeth Parker is about to be caught, held fast by the hand of Fate; but will she be caught out or caught up in an affair of the heart, body and soul?
When nothing else matters … you have to do or die.

My Review

I loved TouchStone for play, book 1 very much.  Sydney Jamesson introduced me to two well written and lovable characters, Ayden and Elizabeth as well as the undesirable Dan.  Book 1 left me hungry for answers and longing for more of their story.

TouchStone for giving

Sydney, you did it again!  You know I am a fan of your writing and I must say, this second book was absolutely amazing.  This book…this story, touched all of my emotions.  I always love books that have that power.  I felt anger, joy, passion, angst, suspense and more joy while reading.  I smiled, I cringed and I smirked.  Wow, all I can say is it is a brilliantly written emotional roller coaster ride worth going on.

Ayden continues to be one of my favorite book boyfriends.  He shows a more playful side in this book while maintaining his passionate side as well.  Elizabeth has grown and a stronger woman emerges in this book.  Dan,  sick, creepy and ugh…

Just as in the first book, the story has a thorough, well written plot with plenty of emotional moments for the reader.  There is really so much that I want to say about this book, but I am limiting myself to avoid spoilers.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves an exquisite romance story.   I am really looking forward reading the final installment in this trilogy.

Sydney Jamesson is truly is an amazing writer.

I gave this book 5 stars!

About Sydney Jamesson

I am a Teacher of English in a Grammar School in England. I have written creatively for years, having worked as a commercial journalist and a copywriter.

TouchStone for play is my debut novel and the first installment of the Story of Us Trilogy.
I am nocturnal by nature and love nothing more than stopping up late, listening to music and being inspired to write. I find music stimulates the senses and helps me to visualize the scenes I write.
I have few interests outside of teaching, reading and writing and would consider myself a home-bird. Although, having said that, I will allow myself to be entertained by Mr. Cavill should he appear on my radar.
